Volunteer
Jackson Day Animal Rescue is an all volunteer, nonprofit animal rescue. We need your help to continue to serve the animals within our community of Southern Utah. As a volunteer you have an opportunity to help animals in need through fostering, kitty care at PetSmart, fundraising, event participation, social media, website updates.
We work with our local shelters, community, and other rescues to bring the best care for these animals.

Since I was a tyke (I’m now 71), I’ve lived with animal companions. Mostly cats and a few dogs mixed in. Have I benefitted from loving and caring for these critters? Yes. About a decade ago, I began volunteering for a local animal rescue. I’ve since moved to another rescue group, Jackson Day Animal Rescue. Why spend my time doing this? Two reasons. First, I want to do what I can to ensure every rescue animal gets a loving home. Secondly, this is pay it forward work. The felines and canines with whom I’ve shared my life have, without exception, made my life better. They weren’t all perfect (who is?), but they all were occasionally funny as hell, affectionate, cute, and the bringers of joy. Sometimes they were scamps. Gosh, almost like small four-legged furry people. The rescue animals I help will continue the good work of their species in new homes. I volunteer because animals matter.
